The Seven Caves tourist attraction has been a safe haven for 20-year-old Bailey Robinson, that is until murder strikes a failing movie star in one of the Caves. The celebrity grew up in the town near the Seven Caves and was about to reveal the secret writings on their walls. But something murderous lurks within the Caves and Bailey is about to discover that she is one part of that secret.

Find out what happens as Bailey and her friends, Avery and Piper, discover that even a small town has a treasure trove of secrets, and some of them are magical, while others are sinister.

The Witching on the Wall The Witchy Women of Coven Grove Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Constance Barker Angel Clark Books

The book opens with baby Bailey being given up for adoption in a closed adoption procedure by a young witch with the obligation that the child's birth mother never be revealed. Flash forward to grown up Bailey who lives in Coven Grove and works giving tours at the Seven Caves. The caves are very interesting in that they contain cave drawings and letters and hieroglyphics from many cultures but none of the letters seem to be translatable.

Poppy Winters, owner of the tour company, is not a very pleasant person. She does things on the cheap and leaves most of the work of the tour company to Bailey while she takes lavish vacations. A media company has sent two anchors to do a story on the caves--Martha, who used to live in Coven Grove and says that she will reveal the secret of the caves, and Trevor.

The day that Bailey finds Martha killed at the caves is also the day that she learns that she can hear the thoughts of others. She fears for her sanity until Chloe explains to her that she is a witch and that hearing other's thoughts is her "gift." I think that it is one that Bailey would like to return.

This book could use some grammar and spell checking. I liked the book but the characters don't feel very fleshed out to me yet. The storyline was good and the author has left herself some room to grow. I think that I would check out the second in the series.

The Witching on the Wall The Witchy Women of Coven Grove Book 1 (Audible Audio Edition) Constance Barker Angel Clark Books Reviews

I was captivated from the start. Paranormal story lines can seem far-fetched but Bailey coming to understand her powers was handled naturally and realistically. Hearing other people's thought made her feel like she was going crazy. The pacing was great, the characters were well developed and I am excited to read the next installment!

I received an ARC from the author in exchange for my honest review
Constance Baker's Witchy Women of Coven Grove series has a great beginning. We get some information in the prologue that will probably play out at some point in the series. Until then, we are introduced to some key characters and see how their lives interact with Bailey's. And Bailey gets a sneak preview as what is to come in the future while helping to solve the murder mystery.
Great beginning!
A girl is adopted and grows up near a series of caves that call to her. She becomes a tour guide and is asked to help with a film crew coming to "explain the mystery" of the town and other information about some of the towns people.
The star is killed and the town is in turmoil since there has not been a mystery death in many years. The girl learns a lot about herself and people she has known all her life as she works to find who killed Martha.
I rated the book a four rather than a five because there were a couple of places where the words were somehow jumbled , making no sense. Bailey and her friends decide to solve a murder, the first that any of them can ever remember happening in their little town. Ultimately, there is a solution and Bailey learns some strange things about herself in the process. It is a good story and I look forward to learning more about Bailey and her friends in future books. There was not much background material on any of them, so they seemed more like background than like an integral part of the story.
The story is about a young woman living in a small town who gives tours of some mysterious caves. After you meet Bailey and her best friends Piper and Avery you get a glimpse of their everyday life.
When a semi famous woman comes into town with a film crew to do a documentary about the caves, everything changes. Martha was a resident of the town and has come back to do an expose of the real mystery behind the caves. Martha is abrasive and acts like everyone should do her bidding, even Bailey.
Because I don't want to spoil the story for you I won't reveal anymore except to say that I need the story for the most part. There needs to be better editing as words are misspelled or missing leaving you to fill in the blanks. Bailey is an interesting character so I want to know more about her.
Bailey has always been fascinated by the caves of her town. What could the writings and drawings means? That’s why she works for a tour company so she can spend as much time as she can there. Sure, she works for a demanding boss, whom she provides unpaid “Accounting Assistance” as a favor. Really, unpaid?

It’s no wonder that Bailey gets headaches. But, soon, the headaches become much more when she starts hearing voices in her head. How could that be? Could it have anything to do with her birth mother?

In the midsts of all this chaos, she stumbles upon a dead body in the caves, prompting Bailey and her friends to start investigating. Who could’ve had a motive? The bakery ladies seemed to be acting stranger than usual. Perhaps they could’ve had something to do with it. But Bailey soon realizes that their secret had nothing to do with the murder. It turns out that they’re witches and they tell Bailey that she’s a witch, too. Apparently, those voices in her head are simply her ability to read minds.

A witty, fun mystery for the most part, but the whole thing was resolved too quickly in the end.
